Sea Water Filters
Forsta sea water filters provide a vital tool for solids removal from raw seawater, and in sea water treatment sequences.
Forsta sea water filters are available in corrosion-resistant materials such as fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP), sometimes referred to as glass reinforced plastic (GRP). Filter bodies are also available in stainless steel, carbon steel with protective coating, titanium and super duplex.
These materials provide durable, long-lasting water filtration solutions. Visit the FRP Series page to review specific sea water filters.

What is Desalination?
Desalination describes any process that removes excess salt and other minerals from water. Often the goal of desalination is to make fresh water available for human consumption or irrigation.
Desalination plants utilize automatic self-cleaning water filtration systems in such applications as ultra-filtration (UF)/reverse osmosis (RO) pre-filtration, process water filtration, and cooling water filtration. Forsta self-cleaning sea water filters extend the life and improve the performance of membrane systems by removing particles such as sand, silt, and other suspended solids.
Sea Water for Process Cooling
Power plants, and other industrial facilities often use sea water for cooling purposes. Raw sea water must be filtered prior to use for cooling.
The harsh nature of marine environments dictates that corrosion resistant materials are used for all equipment. All wetted components of the FRP Series self-cleaning sea water filters are constructed from seawater-resistant plastic or other high alloy materials. Forsta sea water filters can withstand pressures up to 150 psi and feature all the same great benefits of Forsta’s stainless self-cleaning water filters.
